Note from Michele:

Just in case there is any confusion, I am only engaged to one man. I know, I know..... the blog says Michele Hearts Christopher while I keep calling him Marcus. Well, due to a small identity crisis in the 8th grade, my fiance started going by his middle name. Actually, he did this because there were far too many Chrises following the rise of Kris Kross. :) In any case, formally, I address him as Chris, but on a regular basis he is Marcus to me.

About Michele

I absolutely love a good laugh! My life has so many serious aspects to it that any opportunity to bust a gut is much appreciated and it has been like this since I was a little girl. Growing up as the only daughter of two hardworking parents, I was taught that you give your all during the day and leave it behind once you get home. My parents, brother, and I have a wealth of humorous stories that we are always willing to share over a good meal and fine wine to prove it.

My parents instilled a passion in me to excel in everything and fail at nothing despite gender or race. Growing up with an athletic older brother with a penchant for competition also gave me the requisite drive to reach my dreams. Without this strong and supportive foundation, I am sure that my life would be much different from the way it is today.

On May 13, 2012, I will be graduating from the College of William and Mary School of Law with a Juris Doctorate (J.D.). It will serve as the culmination of almost 10 years of higher education. While I enjoy learning in a classroom setting, it is time for me to experience the world in a much different way. Once I finish taking the bar exam in July 2012, I will be looking forward to being a wife and mother in addition to my career as an attorney. This is certainly a different sort of learning curve!

Marcus makes everything easier for me. While we are opposites (I am Type A, high strung, and super-focused on details. He is laid back, go with the flow, and a big picture kind of guy), it is clear that we balance each other out. He is my best friend and one of my largest supporters in each of my endeavors. I look forward to spending the rest of my life with him.
